The two fighters will step into the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 12 where Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title will be on the line, along with final bragging rights from their encounters. The boxers have met twice before, fighting to a draw in May 2004 before Marquez lost his WBC super-featherweight title to the Filipino in a controversial split decision in March 2008. On both occasions, though, Marquez felt he had triumphed.

The November 12th fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez is highly anticipated, but not necessarily competitive. Marquez is a 5 to 1 underdog. The age of the fighters, the contested weight, and their recent competition all suggest Pacquiao will win. However, there is still mystery in how this third match will play out. The Pacquiao v. Marquez story is two thirds complete and as the final chapter approaches we can learn what is special about this fight from history.

Manny Pacquiao:

Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) has been world champion in a record eight different weight classes and been named the Boxing Writers Association of America’s “Fighter of the Year” three times, as well as its “Fighter of the Decade 2000-2009”. At the age of 32, Manny is a 16-year pro. He fights at the top levels of competition and has given some of the most sensational performances in the ring in recent years, and is considered high among the list of pound-for-pound fighters. "I never underestimate Marquez, but it's a big difference in the last three years, .. I changed a lot and I think I improved a lot. My right hand, my power, it's a big difference," Pacquiao said.

If Juan Manuel Marquez thinks he has boxing icon Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao all figured out, he is terribly mistaken, the Filipino pound-for-pound king said on Wednesday.

Coupled with the changes he has gone through since the last time they fought in March 2008, Pacquiao said “I am more dangerous now.”

“I think I am a lot better now,” said Pacquiao ten days before he faces Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Pacquiao, it is him – and not the Mexican counter-puncher –who has drastically improved through the years and proof of this will be on showcase next week in front of a capacity crowd numbering more than 16,000.

“My power has made a big difference. It’s going to be different when he steps in the ring with me,” he said.

Pacquiao boasted that he has perfected the game plan to make the 38-year-old Marquez not only look bad but show that he is the better fighter.

Juan Manuel Marquez:

With an impressive display of physical strength and condition, and foot work, Juan Manuel Marquez offered a public workout at the Romanza gym in Mexico City. He was supervised by the legendary coach and member of Hall of Fame, Ignacio Beristain. Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs) will face WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Marquez sparred for ten rounds, three with Alex Dilmanghani, three with Ramses Agathon and the final four with Mario Zaragoza.

'Now it's time to shed doubt over who the best fighter is,' Marquez said  while wrapping up his training camp in Mexico. 'I want to win this fight because I believe I won the first two fights.

'We are not the only ones saying that we won those first two fights. A lot of people out there, a lot of fans and a lot of the media, agree. So we will be ready and prepared.'

Marquez gave southpaw Pacquiao extra motivation for the fight by wearing a T-shirt bearing the legend: 'We Were Robbed' when their showdown was promoted recently in the Philippines.

While Pacquiao claims he was insulted by that fashion statement, Marquez believes he has just as much incentive for their third and final meeting.

'It is personal for me too,' said the 38-year-old Mexican, who has a career record of 53-5-1 with 39 knockouts said. 'If he is upset about me saying that I won the first two fights, I am upset that I haven't got the decisions.
